I had originally intended to write this as a more or less parallel of Interstate '76 using some friends of mine and the area I grew up in as templates. I wrote the first chapter, and as I usually do, forgot about it. A couple of years later I came back to it, and decided to take the story in a different direction, using more original characters. The area is still my home, though.
This is the first story I've actually put forth more than a cursory effort on (and also the first I've actually organized myself on), so I'd really like to hear what you think (especially if you hated it and think I should go drown my bohemian ass in the river). My email address is x@x.net, where x = bytex64.
Right now I've got the first two chapters up. I've got more, but I think I've re-read these enough times that they're polished to a point that I'm not ashamed of them. :) I intend to make all my work available free of charge, under a Creative Commons license (or similar), and right now I'm licensing this work under the CC Attribution-NonCommercial license.
