beatscape
beatscape is the red-headed stepchild of all vertical column rhythm games.
beatscape aims to simulate many popular vertical-column rhythm games, like beatmania, beatmania IIDX, Pop'n Music, etc. Right now, the game is very unpolished, but playable.
It simulates:
- 7-key beatmania IIDX
- 5-key beatmania (using the same display as 7-key)
It reads:
- BMS/BME files (mostly)
- Stepmania SM files (poorly)
beatscape requires:
- pygame of a recent vintage (I'm using 1.7.1)
- Python 2.4
- a little bit of a clue
